Quick update........

Hannah:Four weeks ago I began piano lessons at the Mount in Atchison!! It has been fun but frustrating at times!I'm not used to people telling me how to play anymore! Anyway, along with that I've been helping a family that we have known for a long time.I get up and leave the house around 7:45 almost every morning and don't get home until 5,6 or sometimes 7:00 in the evening! I help take care of the kids and help clean the house. It's a long story! I've also really been seeking God's Will concerning college.I'm only a Sophomore (almost a Junior!!!) but I have begun to really start praying about this as college is only two years away! So in my spare time (when I have some) I still enjoy reading and learning more about music. Helping with the garden, keeping up with my chores around the house and organizing sheds and Sunday School supply boxes also find their way to the top of my long list! (smile)

Nick: Where do I start?? He's has been busy with mowing, gardening, and doing things that dad doesn't have the time to get done.Oh! And how could I forget turkey hunting?? These days it seems that he breathes, sleeps and constantly thinks hunting. I don't know how he has the patience to sit out there for so long but he does!He also somehow keeps up with being a pest but I guess that's what he is here and always will be here for!

Macy: She is quickly growing up! She's getting taller and she looks so much older! She still enjoys playing outside, messing around with the animals and following Nick's every move! She has got up once to go turkey hunting but another favorite thing of hers is to sleep, so early morning hunts aren't really her thing! She is truly becoming a young lady and her sweet (but ornery) spirit is so much fun to be around!

Peyton:Well, she's the youngest.Do you know what that means??! :) Peyton loves to do her makeup and hair and dress in big pretty dresses with matching bows! She truly seems to be that 10 going on 21! (So much different than Macy and I!)Jumping on the trampoline, riding her bike and playing with her baby dolls are also some of her favorite things. Peyton takes piano lessons and seems to enjoy it for the most part. She definitely likes to have control of each situation, and she enjoys telling we other three how it is.But I guess there has to be one of those in every family! (big smile!)

So this is just a quick update on us that is long overdue! Sorry for the long wait! Hopefully there won't be quite so much of a time lapse before the next post! :)

He Lives!.....

He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives,
Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know he lives?
HE LIVES WITHIN MY HEART!

As we celebrate tomorrow we must be always conscious of the true meaning of Easter. It's no the chocolate(smile), or the cute little bunnies, but rather the fact that someone loved you and I enough to die on the cross and raise from the dead three days later, all to insure eternal life in Heaven for all who accept Him! Jesus Christ loved us enough to die for us.....how can we not give one day out of the year to celebrate His coming, His death and His resurrection?
As I "sign out" I would like to say that I hope you have a wonderful Easter 2010!.... And that you're weather is as wonderful as ours! It's finally beginning to warm up and be "springish'!

P.S.This next week is going to be another busy one but hopefully I'll get some blogging done....maybe even with pictures! (smile)

~Hannah, for the 4 of us!

Long Blog Silence.........

So I can definitely say that there has been a long silence on this blog. I can guarantee that it's not because there has been nothing going on,because ,in fact there has been much going on and this is the reason that I haven't blogged.
We have all been busy with individual activities (fishing, playing catch, jumping on the trampoline and so on). Also, because it has finally warmed up we can go outside and get a couple things done out there. Such as semi-cleaning out the chicken coop, cleaning out the south side of the goat barn where we keep canning jars and some other storage stuff, and preparing for our huge garden! (Well,it will be a huge garden if it doesn't get completely washed out by all the rain!)
At this point right now I am sitting on the bed in a hotel in Hays,KS. We got the privilege of being able to come with dad for a business trip. Oh! the joys of being homeschooled! :) The drive was only about 5 hours, but that's long enough to drive a person nuts when you are squished in a Mountaineer with 5 other people(actually 6 because my uncle came with us,he does the same stuff at work as my dad)and everyone's luggage. Praise the Lord though, our wonderful neighbor let us borrow a luggage holder that attaches to the rear bumper of the vehicle so alllll the luggage was not inside the car with us!
Macy forgot to bring her digital camera so I can't get any pictures on the blog. Sorry!Right now, though, the only thing I'm worried about it what Nick is going to do to me.......He shot a hair tie at me so I picked it up and shot it at him. I aimed right for his neck, most definitely not expecting to hit him their ( if at all) and- oh my goodness! I did!!! That normally would not happen and on the rare occasion that it does he usually gets back at me pretty good!
Well, it's time to go.....I've been rambling. I will hopefully get some pictures taken and a new post up here soon!

Well, it's been awhile since I last posted! There hasn't been much going on around here, amazingly! The snow is all starting to melt and now we have a very large amount of mud everywhere! I am welcoming the mud though with a small smile because the weather is starting to warm up bit by bit and I just heard the news of a thunderstorm scheduled to roll in this weekend! Yay! I love thunderstorms and they are a wonderful sign of spring! (Although it will add to the mud collection.)
This picture really has nothing to do with the coming of spring or thunderstorms, or melting snow,it's just a cute picture of our wonderful dog named Ruby!
Well that's all for now. I shall return though! Over and out!

Our Valentines Day Gift

This is our little calf Valentine. We named her that because we rescued her on valentines day!
Our neighbor behind us owns a bunch of cows and it's time for calving! There was a cow who fell on the ice and broke her back shortly after having her calf. This momma cow could no longer take care of her baby so we took her in and are now bottle-feeding her. She is very high spirited and loves her bottle! Valentine is adorable and is a wonderful addition to our farm.

As I was looking at pictures this morning I realized that I haven't posted a picture of all of us together! These pictures are almost a year old but the only other pictures are on my 35 mmm or mom or dad's cell phones. So, this will have to do for now! The only real difference is that we are all a year older and a little bit taller. (Nick is actually taller than both mom and I now!)
These pictures were taken when we went to Iowa last March.Dad had some training to go to for his job so he took us with him. It was alot of fun!

Both of these pictures were taken near the Cutler-Donahoe Bridge. We saw all the covered bridges of Madison County on our way to Des Moines.(Look how green everything is! I can't wait until everything looks that way again!)
I wish I had some more recent pictures of us! Oh well, though. Maybe when I get my new camera I will take lots of pictures of us and post them!

Crazy Weather........

Brrrrr!!! I thought we lived in Kansas, not Alaska!!! It's so cold outside and has been so cold for the past couple months! The snow is beautiful, but after awhile it's get to be just too much! All the snow from the previous snows that we have had is still melting in some spots and we got a little bit more today! This winter has been the wettest winter I remember and just when we think it's going to go away, we get more! I would love to post some pictures but all the pictures of the snow are on my 35mm camera!
As for "Mr.Sun" I don't think that he is feeling too well because he hasn't been shining all that much! :)He comes out for a little while each day but quickly goes back behind the clouds. I think someone needs to teach the clouds a lesson on not being such bullies to poor Mr.Sun!
There is some exiting news that I could share..... We got a 2004 GMC Yukon last week! It's really nice and very roomy compared to our 2003 Chevy Impala that we have been driving for the past couple years! Everybody has their own space and you aren't constantly touching the person beside you! I don't have any pictures of that either because I'm not crazy enough to stand outside in this cold weather to take pictures!
That is really just a quick update.Again, I apologize for the lack of pictures and the bore this post may be to you! As I am signing out I can't help but look back through the sliding glass door and see the overcast sky and the partially-snow-covered ground!! Yuck! I really hope this crazy weather moves on to some other part of the country soon! (And no, I don't feel sorry for the people that it gets next! If it gets anyone next.....it might be July before it goes away!)
